About the Course

Nantucket Island's only 18-hole public golf facility. This link-style course is located one mile from the ocean and three miles from town. The course is owned by the Nantucket Island Land Bank and was named after an area of the island once inhabited by The Wampanoag Tribe, who referred to it as "Miacomet" or "The Meeting Place".

Miacomet was expanded to 18 holes in 2003 by architect Howard Maurer. In 2008 the original holes were renovated by the same architect to be one of the top renovated courses in New England. The refurbished course offers ample fairways and a mix of green sizes ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 square feet. The course is challenging yet very playable, with multiple tees that allow both professionals and amateurs equal opportunity for an enjoyable day on the links.

      In Season - 6:30 am to 6:00 pm
      Shoulder Season - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
      Winter - 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

  • Local Rules & Etiquette
      • Foursomes are expected to play 18 holes in a maximum of 4 hours & 20 minutes
      • All players must check in at the Golf Shop at least 15 minutes prior to their assigned tee time
      • The golf rangers and starter on duty have full authority on the course to maintain rules and speed of play
      • Twosomes and singles will be paired during peak times if the course is busy
      • All players must have a full set of clubs with a bag
      • Ride along non-golfers are not allowed on the golf course
      • Proper dress is required at all times
      • Dogs are not permitted on the golf course
  • Course Dress Code & Policy
      • No denim jeans
      • No cut-off shorts
      • No tank tops
      • No t-shirts
      • No sandals/flip flops
      • Men’s shirts must have collars or mock necks
      • Women may wear appropriate golf attire
      • Running shoes and sneakers are acceptable
  • Course Consideration
      • Please repair ball marks, replace divots, and rake bunkers
      • Golf cars may not be used without proper assignment and registration in the Golf Shop
      • Keep golf cars out of high rough and away from greens and tees
      • Valid driver's license is required for golf car operation
      • Out-of-bounds on holes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 15, & 16 is defined by white stakes
      • Out-of-bounds stakes are not obstructions and are deemed to be fixed
      • A ball is out of bounds when all of it lies out of bounds
      • Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESA's) can be found on holes 4, 13, and 14. Entry into these ESA areas is prohibited
      • ESA's are defined as lateral water hazards and Rule 26-1c governs play
  • Golf Outings
    • Miacomet Golf Course is an ideal location for a classic Nantucket golf experience.

      Outing dates are available year-round on a limited basis, excluding during our busiest time in July and August.
